I Stand (On the inside)

By Dark Nymph

I could of walked away
and avoided the demise

A part of me just wouldn't listen

Because of that I cry... (on the inside)

So here I am choking on my tears
Living through all the stares,
The evil glares,
The pain of knowing what I did wrong
The fact of going on...

"I stand"

*~*

He claimed he would hold me
And call me his little lady.
The he wanted to settle down
and take care of me.

I believed him

Because of him I cry... (on the inside)

So here I am suffocating on the silence,
Living my life, day to day
Trying to get rid of the pain,
The deceit,
Realizing that I should of known better.
I continue on
Away from the misery.

"I stand"

*~*

I had a choice
and I refused it.
Because of my curiousity and naivete...
I killed my innocence
And I can't change it.

Because of that I cry... (on the inside)

So here I am writing a poem
Remembering the pain
Ignoring the rain
and trying to rid myself
Of feeling ashamed.
I continue on...

"I stand"
