Nobody Is Lurking
By RedRoseProse
In youth I searched
I searched and searched
All is quiet now
I have stopped searching
Nobody (according to what I’ve seen) is lurking
They have all gone away
Everyone dear has cleared
Forever missing and gone
They didn’t stop and say good bye
Existing no more halted by time
Austere world is doing fine
While I’m left alone to cry
Cluttered toys lay beside me
Only thing keeping me company
Of age and no signs of anyone
Only eyes I see are my toys
The artificial eyes of my cluttered toys
Mom? Dad?
Yes, I have stopped searching
For nobody is lurking
