I like putting thought into my poems. Maybe I'll learn something from one of my classes about the human condition and I'll write on it, something that will make you think. They are 99.9999 percent downer poems. My influence comes from Edgar Allen Poe. For example, I like exploding poems at the end like in Annabel Lee. Here is the ending to one of my favorite poems I have written called "My Fate for Being too Late."
When I came calling she had a better plan

She moved on with life finding a much better man

Slowly I realized that she is now gone forever

I let her walk away

So I close my eyes, hoping to die

If death comes soon, it wouldn't be too soon

I would greet him with joy, I dream for him to employ

A death sentence on me, that would be pleasing, but he is only teasing

Because I am still alone in my room

But hopefully I'll close my eyes soon

My thoughts would cease

And I would be relieved

In my cold grave

I would stay there and lay

As the world would go on

I could relive that summer of glee

For the first time I was happy and free

That would please me

But presently this warm room is my fate

For being too late
