the last day of the sun

By Asouldivided

slowly they bend
their small faces to the ground
their beauty fading slowly
more slowly as they bend
to the ground...

dances done so long ago
no more praying to the sun
rotting gold in dying places

turning east then turning west
one last time in the afternoon
their arms so heavy their legs so empty
the last moves in the evening dawn

it is the beginning and still the end
new space for the dying cancer
the sun sets down to higher places,
on it's last day...

one last view to the sky
then the search for pride continues
to the ground they bend...

still waiting in the darkness
if you don't believe me
then come follow me to

the field of a thousand dying suns

Divine. This made me think of the last days of the world..."And when the sun fades to darkness and the moon to blood, it shall mark the end."--I never thought the Bible could be so dark...but great work, welcome to DP.
