Journey (a romance unsheathed)

He walks,
And with his long steps
He takes me on a journey
That I have never known

I see the wondrous things
That his jade eyes see...

He sees my face
And knows that sorrow
Paints my soul

But he does not frighten his hands
Instead...
He lifts me up,
And I feel his love surround me

He carries me to a place
Where the weak and beloved
Are known to reach for warmth
Within their partner's eyes

Endowed mine;
He preciously kisses
Away all the sadness
And replaces them with
Exalted tears
Dappled with sparkling promises

This journey of mine,
I realize...
Is not of somewhere foreign
But of a place so close to me
I had not yet found

It was in my heart...
