The Geode

By Ghost One

Down from the depths a desperate plea rattles it's stone prison...

Afair lady aproaches, looking to be pleased...

Speaking of love...

Eyeing something else...

Lying to herself...

A large ugly stone lies amongst mountains of chipped, tainted, flawed, and broken gem stones.

Even broken and tattered, the gems seem to please the heart and eyes...

Shiney and pretty...

Yet broken and flawed...

The walls echo with the sound of deciet and shallow words...

"I will love you!"

"I want you forever!"

"I am faithful!"

"I am perfect!"

"I am what you want!"

Rebounding and bouncing off the walls and themselves...

Building upon themselves and reinforcing their lies and trickery...

The gems, only good and pleasing until their discrepancies are revealed and noticed...

"Lies!" the dull rock screams from inside it's cage...

"I will be honest, loyal, and loving!! Always!! I swear it!!"

It's cries drowned out by the white noise of a flood of deciet...

Heartfelt words lost upon a sea of empty words...

More over does it's soul call out to her...

And yet it's cries fall upon deaf ears...

Only to be cast away as a dull rock amongst gemstones...

The lady never to know of what lies deep withing it's stone prison...

Never to know of the abounding love, passion, and perfection hidden deep within this geode...

Perhaps someday she will return and break open it's shell and hold close the beauty inside... perhaps...
