we sit side by side

By Dead _Poets _Shadow

something i wrote for the class of 2006 enjoy

We sit side by side on this proud night
Where four years of dreams are wrapped in a scroll
For good health and good times
12 years we have been friends
Together forever till the end
Though on this night we part
With broken hearts but
It seems yesterday we just walked into the halls
Watching as others stood tall
At lunch we joked on who we liked
Constantly avoiding a fight
Long phone calls in the night
We had our fights
Between each other but after we became friends
After all had ended
We soon leave and wonder
Will we be back?
Chapter by chapter the book begins to unfold
With our untold stories finally being spoken
Though our hearts a broken
We will never forget
The times we shared
The memories we cannot bear
Of all the people we hold dear
For this was our year
As each of our names is read clear
We withhold a memory so dear
But out comes our fear
That the end is near
Hold onto what is there
The names are finished
Our journey has but started
Now in one
We throw our hats high
For at the end of this night
We go our separate ways
But in the end I hope you get as much as you get
Never forget that these were the days of our lives
So never let them pass you by
As give our final hug
We wonder where did our time go.
But as we leave
I ask for you to remember
Me
But of all
Never forget any of the memories
For those are the moments that last
An entire life time
So this is farewell but not good bye
We will meet again
In time
