Turning Point

By Nexus

I can not help remember
That awful day in September
They were strong, they were tall
They left spectators in awe.

Then that day they both fell down,
Rubble and bodies covered the ground.
They had no chance, but to stay
As the buildings began to sway.

Many people jumped out the windows
Transforming their spouses into widows.
Their children were told that awful day,
Mommy or Daddy is in heaven to stay.

That group of terrorists that made the call
To devastate not one life but all.
They saw it as a chance to get back
And fullfill their promise, their goal, their pact.

I wish they had survived for one sole purpose.
Their gruesome torture might serve to please us.
All the people who had died that day
Did not deserve to die in that way.

There are more, many more terrorists,
Who should be shot after bound by the wrists.
Id show no mercy, no sympathy,
You screw with my country you screw with me!

Now let’s get back to the business at hand
Kill the terrorists, the world’s evil strand.
I want to hunt them like a sport,
Until they are only dead bodies left for me to sort.

Now look at what happened, I used to be nice.
Until the terrorists attacked the WTC twice.
Now all I think about is death and despair,
We should drop a nuke to contaminate their air.

Now the President wants to hunt them down
By shooting at them round after round
But that wont work, why doesn’t he see
The terrorists will not give in or make a plea.

So there is really only one way to stop them
And Bush is failing our country again.
We must ignore innocent casualties
And kill them as we please.

What did I say? I can’t believe it.
The terrorists have caused me to think all this shit.
I can’t believe its working. Their little plan
To spread terror throughout the US is just a scam.

The spread of terror is not their goal.
Their plan is brilliant, amazing and bold.
They want to spread but not be killed.
The gap in their society left to the US citizens to fill.

By causing us to get pissed and mad
We would become what we hate. Oh, this is bad!
They knew this would happen and we wouldn’t see,
This transformation that has happened to me.

Look at this, we are turning into them.
Osama Bin Laden, we are as bad as him.
So this war on terror, it is pointless.
I think Bush knows but is too afraid to address.

We need to stop before it turns
Into a war in which both sides get burned.
In the end, if we stay,
Our eventual death, fate will not delay.

I love the message in this poem! Here in Europe we keep saying that this is exactly what Bush is creating... a world of fear. There are better ways to fight terror, than to fight it with terror! Bush is missing the point that there are other types of soci

societies than the Western society. Terror is wrong, but he is only making things worse and apparently also changing his own people... I think it's very good that you write this! I love people who open their eyes!!

That's pretty good! I like the idea it brings up, I can honestly say I hadn't thought of that before

It seems a bit dated, and it's not the kind of poetry I, personally, prefer, but it WAS well written, all the same.
