Haze

the world is hazy for me
memory just out of reach
I don't want to take the steps
the work, the focus that I would find necessary
to break out of this haze
obscuring
entrapping
all the important things that can truly bring us definition

I share this lament with all those
trapped in this beutiful haze
a stunning trap I would describe as green
except that it escapes all colors
even those I love
for whatever reason
you are trapped here with me
cry against it
celebrate it

I lament as well with those
who can break me out of this
pulling me out of my drowning state
in beutiful, ecstatic, euphoric moments
a talk, a touch, a significant nothing
and life returns in a wave
before it returns to the unfound places it came from
leaving me lost once more
in a fog of not-green
