Ode to my Beloved New Orleans

By Aquilla Rage

Ode to my Beloved New Orleans

I walk in nightfall of my Cresent City
Savage winds rant, awakening the Sylph
The birth of agony and lament debut
A plague grows submerged in my throat
While this sky pushes down

An ocean of toxic mucus imbathe thristy pores
Waist deep amidst fetid friends
Arms floating a waltz to lumbering melody
Syrupy humid flora, smother every breath
While this sky pushes down

Unable to set forth a fitting guise
Blood cascades from this vacant image
As I grieve for my Cresent City
Shouting blasphemy at the tempest
While this sky pushes down
