Enthralled

By Crysa

From the woods the darkness called, "Shadow, Vengeance, Death",
and I, marching to these words, enthralled.
Silence fell as I approached the encasing, but my heart beat echoed bass.
Suddenly, quicker, louder, amazing, screaming words blinded me fast.
The rock shattered around my fist, slicing, scarring, and blood began to flow,
crying, trying, to help this other lost soul.
He had tumbled out unto my feet, and I aware of some vengeance he had harbored deep,
cleansed the blood and bade him sleep.

Into the light we emerged, and trailing behind us, Death,
as we wandered through lands as yet, unpurged.
On his throat and upon my hand, I observed,
a mysterious symbol had scarred us both, and as one we two were merged,
to travel through this land of the searing sun.

Intriguing. What a wonderful image you've described here in this small amount of words. :)

This was almost visible as I read it, like a play. Rather cryptic, but the mood is set and I followed it like a nightmare. Good.
