Capeless Hero

By peril_notion

Dementia feels the tables turn
Are we seeing eye to eye?
I don’t think you can comprehend
..don’t even fucking try
Because your close-minded antics
Aren’t of any use here
It’s me against the world
Most people’s greatest fear

Slowly I trudge through
As a soldier on the field
Regarding all with contempt
My true hatred is revealed
Drawn into a downward spiral
Society erodes our persona away
Having kids is birthing clones
Each does another seem to portray

Just as the clock ticks solely for me
Through the darkness descends the light
As I ponder the realism of this mess
My own egotism seems to incite
Lonesome sets in thicker
“I need no one” my independence claims
Subconsciously I scream for you
That’s the end to these pathetic games

Frightened of the potential outcome
Desiring the good but expecting the bad
Will he discombobulate this heart of mine
As so many others have
Don’t put faith in people
They’ll only prove to let you down
As my conscience builds a brick wall
Your essence seems to surround

pretty good rhyming flow... i love it that you could fit "discombobulate" in... freaky fucking word that it is... some of the ideas are very easy to identify with... a lot of people would... strange that not more have said so...

I like the intensity in this one and nice wordplay.
