Only Businessmen and Writers
By Gabriel
it seems to me only
businessmen and writers
continue sitting after
paying the bill.
they leave their card out on
the bar and smoke a few
cigarettes.
having been both these men,
i know they stay for two
very different reasons.
businessmen sit to still
their thoughts and to escape
the stress only other
businessmen will know.
controlling people is rough.
and the writer sits to
observe these men and play
at the harder task of
stealing these men's spirits
with his ink and paper.
i have to say that the
later is much more fun,
playing like i'm gabriel,
judging all the barfolk.

...i would argue that writers don't do this at all, because they're generally impoverished and tend to sprint to the door before the bill has arrived :)

The reality of the poem is amazing. Amazing wording and amazing facts... Good points. You are very observative, and I enjoy that in a writer ~*~Tart~*~
