5 O'Clock

By GraySky

No need to fret now.
The moonlight showed me everything
That wasn't there.
No car,
No darkened headlights,
No shadows moving below
Toward my dim and frozen haven.
He's gone like yesterday.
One hour's much too long.

Ten more minutes, love,
And I'll be gone.
Yes, I'll return for but a moment's hello,
Though I'm afraid it's not enough.
But thank you for the energy.
It's come in handy lately.
