Personal Appocolypse

By emeraldgrace

dark twisting clouds of rage
and insanity
rain lashing betwixt furious lightning
searching and seeking to purge mankind
of its material possesion and fault
to wipe them and their weakness
from this world
with arms open embracing the sky
i dared the furious tides of nature to strike
heedless of danger
bold in my attempt to show self worth
and so stood there fixedly
all alone
for nature to see me pure
when time seemed to slow
as if the heavens had almost decided
that perhaps, after all, we might be
worthwhile
calling back the blackened skies
calming the thundering winds
to show the firelight
cast by the sun
just now settling down
