Featured Generation

By ashrain

How long until you speak
how close to death do we have to come
for words hidden for a life time

how long until you open your hearts
your eyes
your minds
your mouths

We are the golden child
We are the chosen one
We are the featured generation
We have walked your miles

You are the lasting impression
emblazened on the flag
I wore on my shoulders
head held high
in courage and pride
You were the me
I wanted to be inside

Your cries were never so loud
when heard from behind closed doors
Your prayers were never so meant
When spoken from behind closed lips

We idolized
and despised
the lessons we have learned
We worship
and praised
the words that leaked
from the minds of the elder

We are the golden child
We are the chosen one
We are the featured generation
We have walked your miles

Your death will bring forth
the minds of the many
Your face will hide fears
Felt by the mass
My heart will shed tears
In ephigy to the Hands
Hands that held tight
the palms of a child

You mourn for your nothing
I mourn for my soul
You lost all your nothing
I lost all my whole

I wrecked the entirety
Of the home made a house
You picked up the peices
Of the house made a whole

We are the golden child
We are the chosen one
We are the featured generation
We have walked your miles

How hard do I have to scream
How many times must I cry
How sincere do I have to be
To have recognition before you die

I cared far to much
For the love I had inside
I cried far to many times
To care when you die

We are the golden child
We are the featured generation
You were the lasting impression
Emblazed on flags that we burned
You wore the lasting expression
That didnt care to be worn

We are the golden child
We are the chosen one
We are the childer of the refusable
We are the ones scorned
We bore your mistakes to the grave
We wore the faces of the ghosts
We are the childer of the refusable
We worshiped you as the gods

You were my golden Idol
You were the face
Emblazed on the flags
I waved upon the hill tops
Singing in the smoky daze

I had a father
I had a friend
I had a brother
But all things must end

You were the father
you were the feind
your were the face
beheld in the dreams

what a wonderful lyric- expressive, flowing... there is a message in it's rant, clear as a bell tone. Wonderful write
