SECRETS
By cgracewrite
Why my love,
do you doubt me?
I have always been honest with you,
I have Hepatitis C
Why do you blame me?
I got it as a kid
a transfusion.
My family worked for years to keep it a secret
To shield me from your prying eyes,
And the eyes of others,
Your questions: was I an IV drug user, a sniffer of cocaine?
I have led the most boring life in the world
But your daughter doesn't think so,
Whatever she thinks,
She is determined to break us up
So far, the bond is too strong
Is it sex?
I will do whatever he wants,
I love him
There will be no more children for me,
He doesn't want any more children.
So we do what we want to satisfy ourselves.
But his daughter,
She is the apple of his eye, his eye candy,
Me getting between them is not acceptable.
She told everyone they know commonly,
people I have not heard of,
That I have Hepatitis C.
It is chronic,
I got it from a blood transfusion
When I was eight.
Now his daughter blames me
But not him
But of course he does not blame his daughter,
Who else can he blame?
Me.
