"that gleam of a pristine new toy"

By Gabriel

that gleam of a pristine new toy
in its glossy package
as it lights the room
with its presence, enrapts
little children and they
can't help but touch
(urged so by each sinew of their
wanting bodies)
presiding over time
and so content not to wait for
a single soul or the rain
flirting with each flower
the new figure is its master
and no single human or being
above could hope to diminish
that clean luster
or fill that toy with shame
there is nothing empty about
such a brand new glory
