How Many?

By forbidden

damn i've lost count,
time after time i've criticized,
questioning my logic,
or the lack there of.
for many hours have i wasted
and futher more,
too many opportunities,
just too damn many.
but as i sit here writing in vain,
i look back upon those horrid days gone by,
then it becomes a bit more clear.
for every smile,
brought to your face,
every laugh,
that reached your heart,
made my life seem worth while.
and even if,
just for those few brief moments,
those where the days i lived for you.
and it was you,
that gave this "life" new meaning,
and for that, i owe you everything.
my lover, my life?
i've had my doubts,
but more over,
those few days of glory,
of those ther could never be too many.

very nicely done, as much as I preach that good poetry is something that everyone can relate to, I think you've done just that...you paint a picture that everyone can see whats going on for you, and yet they have all had a fitting situation to that very same image...

Ok... I'm gonna be honest... its a good piece. And I like it... but you got lucky that I even read it since you put that in the title. Few people here will. Have some confidence in your stuff and be yourself. Thats all we expect. Nice piece. -Glass
