Blind but I can see

By DarkPaladine

As I sit here beneath the branches of the old
oak tree on top of this hill in a bed of green.
I see all of the wonderful things there are
to see.I can see the field of green grass that
looks like a green sea that reaches from this
hill to the far line of trees.
And way up high in that sky so blue are white
puffy clouds, not many just a few. I also see
the birds as they dance through the sky and
often wish that I could fly.
And over to the right of me is a field of
flowers and buzzing bees. And at the bottom of
the hill just below me is the small farm town
where I should be.
But instead I'm on this hill where I can see.
I see the church with it's ringing bell and the
town bakery with it's wonderful smells.
I see the the park where the children play, and
I wish I could be as happy as they.Yes all these
things are what I see but also what I can not
see.
I cannot see this old oak tree,I can only feel
the rough bark as I sit here beneath it's mighty
branches. And the field of green grass that goes
to the line of trees, that is just a memory.
The sky so blue with a cloud or two, that also
is just a memory. The field of flowers are quite
real for them I can smell and them I can feel.
And another reason I know that they be is from
the buzzing of the busy bee.And the church that
is in younder dell,I can not see only hear it's
bell.
All these things that I can see are things of
eyes that no longer see.But do not frown or upset
be I may be blind but I still see.
