Just one more mile before this life
is past.
Just one more mile to walk today
to see your smile and watch our
children play.

before todays light becomes my
past.
I have walked many miles in days
gone by and on those days I have
laughed and cried.
Yes I have walked many miles with
you and on some of those days I have
carried you.
I remember walking hand in hand and
watching you with our children build
castles in the sand.
I remember pouring cold water on you
and down the beach we all flew.
Our life together has been a great one
Some were ok and some were great fun,
and then came the day you gave birth to
our son's.
I thought I would walk many miles with
you how were we to know they would be so
few.
Just one more mile is all I ask before
this life becomes the past.
I ask questions looking for answers of
how and why did I get cancer.
So as this life comes to an end and I
try to share it with my best friend.
I ask god for one more day,so that I
can walk just one more mile with you.
