We are the Living Dead

By Lifeless

The living dead know a secret:
There is no such thing as genuine love
Love, seemingly pure and simple,
man has turned it into a self-absorbed emotion
with false hopes and unfulfilled promises.
It has become a demon corrupting the weak.

The living dead have tasted what is called love
and know its painful existence.
We are no longer free to believe in true love.
Through pain, suffering and trying to find it
we have ended up a bloody mess on the floor.
What we thought to be true love
ended up being miles and miles of diseased roadways.

It's not because the living dead are cold, hollow, need love people it’s because we have learned in our desperate search that real, honest, pure, simple, true love does not live. And as long as we walk amongst mortal man who chooses to think he can fulfill true love’s existence, our numbers increase daily and will continue to do so until any type of love ceases to survive.

Very cool look on "love". I can agree with it quite easily... but there is always the "other side" to this. Excellent work. -michael
