Addicted

By addicted_angel

My innocence was lost the day we met.
Burned to ashes that now
Rest in the pit of my stomach.
As so many times I have trespassed the boundaries
Of normal behavior. So many times
The animal has taken over
as morals and inhibitions melt into
the liquid edges of the universe
that we fall through,
Sinking into a world that exists only inside of me.

A world where flesh can be torn
and shredded in this desire
without pain or fear, or remorse
as no guilt exists and regrets become repaired
you open your wounds to me
and I bathe in your blood
Drinking your life into my pores.

A haven where souls daring to be free
Meet a brief reprieve from consequence.
This world so comforting, built on fire
and gasoline that burns so truly, so violently
that it devours all that lies in it's path,
an unwavering, eternal, arrow straight, path
That leads directly to you.

Can I move forward as the
broken shards of glass tear through my soul,
ripping it away piece by piece
in a vain attempt to keep me from the sovereignty
That lies only in your arms?
Only you can extinguish this fire,
only you are welcome in this world
