While the Rain Pours

By Flayed_Soul

How could you learn from misery?
Could it just be optimism?
With your innocence faded
It creates a schism.
The hope separated by miles
From the despair in your heart
If you're never open again
How will you learn to make a new start?
With each breath
Leading you closer to your last
How can you learn to live
When the seasons change so fast?
Just try to match the world
Day by day, stride by stride
And you'll end up tired, lost
Broken and left with no pride.
Everyone wears pain on their face
Far too often to be real.
I can't imagine with their lives
They always feel the way I feel.
Maybe that's why the great divide
Between my world and yours
Keeps us sad and lonely
While the rain pours.
