expatriate

By red_haze

a bleach white smile in familiar face.
lies that feign miscomunication,
slip of the tongue missiles begin a battle...
and
my eyes only find red, white, and blue bruises.

i've found prison in an unwelcome home of the 'free'.

stranger in a world i don't want to know.
the geography of political dissention,
masses typed in blocked letters...
and,
a flag that i'll use to dust off my foreign block-busters.

i've a traitors walk and a thousand miles to travel.

This isn't my favorite of your poems - it feels like it's missing something. Not that I don't like it... its strength lies in its simplicity, something I'm always a fan of.

thank you. i appreciate all forms of comment and criticism. the 'missing' piece.. it's true. something is missing. my patriotism. i harbor hate for a home that does not welcome.

So detached and alone... This conveys something of a desolation and comlements my despise of cities and the conglomerated mass of humanity.

i am glad someone can relate. though i don't necessarly hate cities, i do hate my country. i am sure this offends many people, but truly, i long to live abroad.
