New Set Of Walls

By Ideas

Watch me as I build
A new set of walls
Stronger than the rest
To catch me as I fall
I can't do this again
For another I simply won't feel
I've been broken too many times
This time I won't bother to heal
So watch me as I build
This different set of walls
To keep you from seeing me
When you make me crawl
Thicker than ever
My shell will not break
I've let too many in now
And it's more than I can take
I'm simply too nice
So now you see them being built
These improved walls
Cemented by my everlasting guilt
And I can't help but wonder
If anyone will ever understand
I've been forced into hiding
This was never my plan
A new set of walls
To forever mask my tears
To catch me as I fall
To forever block my inner fears
There is no saving me now

I know how you feel, but I believe you will regret those walls later on. Perhaps you should start with a nice hedge and see how you like it first. It was a beautiful poem and I greatly enjoyed it.

You are sensitive, courageous, and intelligent. Three wonderful qualities. Also, on the bright side, perhaps a wall is not necessarily such a bad thing. One must protect one's self, and let only those who are truly worthy inside of those walls.
