The Fraud

By streetpoet

You see what you want to see
when you look at me,
that's okay
I'll make you believe.

They call me the deceiver,
but my lies ring true.
Can you hear them
calling out to you,
my love?

I told you what you wanted to hear,
it was imperative to my survival,
yesterday.

Today,
upon my arrival.
let's dance,
the greatest of all arts,
grand illusion divine.

Appeal to me
for I am not what you see,
become blind,
together we shall find
all that eludes.

Let's follow the winds call
and make romance,
let's dance.

For an hour,
for a minute,
for a second,
forever.

This is the greatest
time of our lives
and it all began
with my lie.

Let's fly.

Yeah, but we all lie. It's part of learning how to be honest with yourself. Thanks for the posotive feedback.
