Wasted Time
By Flayed_Soul
Up the steps, her scent lingers by the door
From when she left a couple minutes before.
Sweet and relaxing, I sink to my knees,
A smile creeps across my lips with ease.
Breathing in her air reminds me
Of the way things used to be.
Lazy days spent in the sun,
Long walks without seeing anyone,
Caresses and sighs on our bed,
Passionate nights without anything said,
Serenades under the trees,
Love letters, the perfect tease,
Keeping the blaze alive,
Letting us both survive.
The twinkle in her eye, the seductive smile
As vivid as if it is before me all the while.
The sound of her voice, murmuring professions of love
As I gaze into her face, holding me from above.
And as her fragrance is blown away in the wind,
I remember the day she came home and I grinned.
I saw there was hate in her eyes
And my pain thereafter was not disguised
As she told me to leave and never come back;
I barely had enough time to evade her attack.
So now I must come while she is away,
Hoping to reconcile and rejoin one day.
But I must leave soon, as is my plan,
To avoid seeing her in love with another man.

Oooh...very emotional and deep...I've felt this before..of course a few roles were reversed...this gives me that ball in my throat, the one you have to swallow so that you won't cry...~Delilah~
