I am alone

By streetpoet

I AM ALONE!

I am a word without rhyme
a soul uncomfortable in it's own skin
a piece of the puzzle that doesn't fit in
I AM ALONE

I am an oddity amongst men
too smart too be stupid too stupid to care
too stubborn to listen too selfish to share
I AM ALONE

I am an outcast
lost in a sea of unfriendly faces
a child of GOD fallen from graces
I AM ALONE

I am wayward
with no destination I endlessly roam
desperately trying to find my way home
I AM ALONE

I am tired
sleeping in the sun cut off from the light
resurected as a true creature of the night
I AM ALONE

I am the zombie
feasting on the flesh of innocents
existing only in the past tense
I AM ALONE

I am the vampire
trying to quench an unquenchable thirst
waiting for dawn praying for the worst
I AM ALONE

I am lost
searching for a candle burned out long ago
feeling the pain i hope you'll never know
I AM ALONE

I am nothing
it is my time of this I have no doubt
the flame always flickers before going out
I AM ALONE

I am dead
my suffering has finally come to an end
I greet the reaper as a long lost friend
I AM NO LONGER ALONE
