elasticity

By evinkay

you will have to be so careful
to hold on to this thing
it's so fragile
it will be painstaking
it will take all of everything
that you have to give

it won't be here forever
it doesn't live on its own
it dies when you don't feed it
it dies when it's left alone

yet there is a persistence
a wide open possibility
the whole world opens up to me
breathe into it life
breathe into it possibility

and yet it's taking so long
like a never ending symphony
getting tired of the effort
getting tired of the familiarity

place your hopes in what it is
it is all that it has to give
it is all that is left
take a ride straight down in with it

and you wake up again
to the chair and the table
to the bed in the corner
to the life held in infinite

I hold on to the buzz
it is all that is left in me
I feed it so it can live
it has never once abandoned me

there is money on the table
there is a life on the line
there is a righteous branch
that still grows from the vine

Self-preservation is also emotional, great way to try & show this to the world, I dig.
