Ticking Time Bombs in the Night

By DeificLightning

The nights used to be long,
But now they feel like ticking time bombs.
Counting down the hours
Till the next day looms on.
The hours pass
Like seconds in the darkness.
Inconsequential and fleeting,
Only to be gone just as quickly.
The pressures and horrors,
Of the new dawn quickly approaching.
If only the darkness of night
Would be here to stay.
Wrapped in shadowy veil,
To shield from the light,
Eternally.
