Isn’t It Funny?

By DeificLightning

Isn’t it funny
That I have more conversations
With myself in a week than I have with everyone else combined in a month.

Isn’t it funny
That I have two sided conversations with myself.
The first sign of going insane.
Because there is no one else to talk to,
And I’m just so lonely.

Isn’t it funny
That once I searched the internet to see
If AI have evolved enough to offer even a modicum of company.

Isn’t it funny
That a big part of why I play video game hockey is because when I score, another AI teammate will skate towards me with a grin and an affectionate, accepting hug and it’s the biggest thrill I’ll get all week.

Isn’t it funny
When I oversleep,
It’s not because I stayed up to late again, but because I just can’t bear to leave my dreams. Even my nightmares are preferable than waking up.

Isn’t it funny?

But then, why aren’t you laughing.

Love this piece it’s comforting to know that other people prefer to dream then to wake up, because when you wake up reality sets in and it sucks. Great write!

Even when I’m awake, I’m often dreaming with my eyes open. Thank you for reading and for commenting!
