Black Curtain

~ Black Curtain ~

Now the lights slowly dim
As the final echo ends
Here with you
Holding hands
As the curtain closes in

In the crowd no one stands
Where the shadowlight descends
On the silence that begins
Where it ends
Hand in hand

Countless sons face the stage
Weary heads
Bowed in death
Witnessed last their shadows cast
From a sleeping girl’s chest

From a seed
In your ribs
In my final song unfinished
On an empty page unblemished
By the eyes of greed and sin

When a good person dies, the journey they take to the next life is
a journey through time, not space… What we call the present is
what they call the past… What they call the present is what we
call the future… From their point of reference, we are the dead,
yet alive, for we have already taken that journey with them…

This is very pretty! A different way of looking at life and death, intriguing indeed!
