Part One: Crucify Him
My child, how I loved you,
Until I saw your face,
And ’til I heard your voice.
I don’t have time for this shit.
Part Four: Infant Suicide
Seven deadly seconds
11:34
Frozen on the clock above the door
Swinging closed
To the sound of quiet footfalls on the way across the room
To the bed
Where a shadow stared ahead
At the little girl staring back
The moon above her head
Shining red
Through the melted heart-shaped mirror
Through the bloodstained window glass
Through the shadow, swaying
Sadly weaving portals through the past
And in her hand she held a sword
Its silver edges stained in white
From closing and reopening this door that leads to endless light
And so she prayed
Lovely angel, please leave my room
Unwashed of my little brother’s blood
Or father’s hate
A hundred days and five too late
You came to set me free
But it’s okay
I’ll never cry again
But die again
In sweet death I will sleep with you, my love
The sword that pierced my soul
Tonight I will sleep
’Cause time heals no one but the heartless and
the dead
And the never-ending river of red
Beneath my skin
Tonight shall end
Amen
Part Two: Partial Birth
Here beside the misty lake
Slowly rising drop by drop
From this crown of liquid red
Falling from my hair
Face to the sky
A knife in each eye
A sword in my stomach
Driven deep into the wonders that I wanted you to know
But now they’re dead
And so am I
The serpent’s venom brought to life
The werewolf’s lair behind your eyes
The prison where you crucified my soul
Is still my only home
For yours is the shadow that covers my sin
And mine is the mirror where now reflects then
December eleven
11:07
Covered in blood in my cradle above
Part Three: Poisoned Milk
From my heart to yours
The blood in me purified
Transferred and fused
Rivers of peace pouring out of my chest
Whiter than snow
Pure as the angel who never appeared
To gently suck those tears away
Tears of the eyes of the knowledge of evil
Remembering good
The blood again defiled and trapped in my breasts
'Til the day of my death when I'll unloose the
chains
With a blade in between
Bringing pain, bringing rest
So my love can descend in an unending flow
To the left and the right of this double-edged
sword
To wherever you are...
Whoever you are...
And your hungry cries shall be heard no more
Part Five: A Virgin Conceived (Scene 98, Take 2)
In the night I heard your voice
Born again you held me close
In the light I saw your face
There beside the crystal lake
There you kissed me
Ending time
Ended by eternal life
