Soul of the Snake

By Paradoxology

~ Soul of the Snake ~

Deeper, deepest
Darker, darkest
Brightest stars are drenched in darkness

Blacker, blackest
Sinner, sinless
Blinding light disguising blackness

In your heart a love so heartless
In your soul a hateful sword
In the wolf a lamb so frail
On the sword the lamb impaled

Then devoured, faithless coward
High-pitched laughter, frozen eyes
Demon clone, your game is past
I can see the rotting corpse behind your smiling mask

A never-ending unrelenting love affair with death and pain
Imparted by the darkness at the heart of an extinguished flame
