Born Again

                                                      ~ Born Again ~

In her arms the nightmare ended where the nightmare once began…

The tip of the iceberg, the ship that abandoned
The sad ugly sailor in darkness unfathomed
The curse of the maiden, the curtain of night
Buried him dead in a palace of ice

The base of the iceberg, the place where envisioned
The beautiful maiden in sunlight imprisoned
The curse on the sailor she buried in ice
Guarded by sharks in the shadows of night

Six hundred threescore and six fathoms deep
Taunted by treachery, haunted by sleep…

Only for a moment could the book of life be seen
In pages by her blood inscribed the author saw his final dream
             Silent ’til the angel cried
             The past unknown…
             The future shown…
Shaded as her words of love were covered by his frozen blood

Lonely orphan hiding in the dungeons of her dream
Was tortured by the force of sorrow, gone tomorrow, never seen
             Crying ’til the silence came
             The searing blade…
             The cruel pain…
Longing for the sky above while dying in a pool of blood

Six hundred threescore and six fathoms deep
Haunted by treachery, taunted by sleep…

The fate of the iceberg, the face of creation
The rest of the story in cold revelation
The brutal abortion that tore them apart
Scripted in black in a lost book of art

The death of the maiden, the pain of the dagger
The depth of the iceberg, the chain of forever
Was mingled with blood in a chalice of vice
Melting to nothing the palace of ice…

Inside the Holy Citadel, the mother of the human race
Beyond the barren tree of life, inside the scarlet sea of hell
Another spiral shell was formed, below its blackened sheet of ice
Seven thousand years from Eden…one fathom deep
The maiden and the sailor were awakened from their sleep

And feeling heaven she beheld her own reflection on his skin
In her body he’d been buried, changed to Milk and formed again
From her bones and flesh, the book of life laid open at its blissful end
The face of God unveiling love, the virgin birth of every man
