Anxiety Dream

By MrGrieves

The distance from me to sleep
the climb to dreams on skeleton trees
contingent on intake of drink

i love this silly state of mind
with bad intentions and catchy senquences
a sip to get there
a trip each night to no concept of time

then a turn
teeth fall from spongey black gums
they never gave a reason
my arrival was too late in my sedate

jonny's on time though
impecably in fact,in hand a weight
an anchor of sorts
tied to my feet and dragging me through this murky water

but i fret for my teeth
and worry so, what the fish will think
so stripped and exposed

not my choking lungs
nor lack of air
but what i cant see, but know is there
the looking-glasss self, reflects hatred of me
the ugliest affect
wake in cold sweaty sheets

If Salvador Dali wrote a poem it'd be just like this! Love it.
