And Death Said

By SirEnders

Death said come to Him
And so it was, lights dim.
Never looking down, nor around
Always silent, never a sound.
He said, let them live forever
And so it was, no life to sever.
Never looking back, keep my word
So high, above the singing bird.
The Reaper come to you tonight
Let him Reap with no last fight.
Above everything, but not the sky
Just one last breath, then let me die.
Love the pain, hate the stains
Not quite the vein, I'm insane.
And Death quoted Poe
What he says is so.
Years of Love forgot,
In the Hatred of a minute.
Death said and so it was
Drinking to get that buzz.
Hear the disconnect on the phone
No longer welcome in my home.
Above the birds, yet below the tunes
In this wasteland, lying in the dunes.
This land is barren with Life
Yet so Prosperous with Death.
Never to have suffered with rest,
Means to have never been blessed.
And Death said it, it was so
He had quoted him again, Poe.
Maybe, truly, I am insane because
My heart was touched, as Death does.
To die in Deaths personal grotto
Death said it, and it was so.

Jesus, talk about your classic refrain. It's all there, replete with tones of Longfellow, Keats, or Byron. Impressive write.
