Awareness of the Death Impulse

By Crashoverride

sitting in a new city
wishing that my baby was here with me
there's no way for me to do it any different
to make her listen
I moved on
in a dark room writing a new song
thinking about all the ways we could have gotten along
the pain envelops us all
no matter color or creed
we all fall on the need
what's the decision gonna be?
nIw i see that i don’t require anything to rewire
other than myself and a little bit of desire
one can’t erase their own face
water doesn’t ripple itself
throw a rock in the lake
design what you’re gonna make
paint a picture
become creative
take in a breath and tone down all the hatred
we are living in the matrix
snap a picture of the present
we all know that it won’t last
yet we ignore it cuz ideas are abstract
reality tells the truth but it can’t be shared
were all alone, and deep down were all aware

You have captured the abstract essence of a fate that is all too real to many people out there. We all make our ripples... Thank you for sharing a great poem.
