Locked Away

By Glass eyes

As the wind speed grows faster,
And the waves start to crash.
The little girl runs her fastest,
Hoping to get back.

She runs and she runs,
But to no avail.
For this little girl is stuck,
In an emotionless wave pool.

She tries to swim and keep her head above,
But it's too late now to try to change.
For that little girl took too long,
To grow up again.

So now her adult self is taking charge,
And locks away the little girl to protect from harm.
People try to help from the outside to in,
But the adult her too broken to understand let the monsters win.

So now this little girl trapped on the inside,
Is waiting to be rescued before she herself dies.
