I drink to drink
By beamish
I drink to drink- not to kill the pain
I drink to drink- not to hide from the day
Quite the opposite - I become the life of the party
Or so I say
I drink to drink - it's my grown up play
I drink to drink - it keeps my mind on a steady keel
My feet move free
She is the greatest beauty I've ever seen
I drink to forget- everything I've said
I drink to forget - what I did in bed
I drink to forget- why I drink to drink
But
I drink to drink so I have something that I need to forget
Then I have another reason
I need to drink

As someone who used to "drink to drink" every night of the week this totally resonates with me. It took me about a decade to get to a point where I simply "forgot to drink" because it wasn't important to me anymore. But I had a real fuzzy decade in my 20s. Write on!
