End of Times

By Damon Tarloth

The myths of perfect paradigm.
Incorporeal prison bound through time.
Unraveling events or fate.
Unleashing Armageddon's gate.

Chants and prayers suspended might.
Instant darkness, vanished light.
Ephemeral hope fades away.
Plunged, blinded evanescent day...

Immersed in fear this tale begins.
The anger rises from within.
Inscribed on flesh the mark of Cain.
Is passed by touch this fetid stain...

The throat is marked of fallen beast.
This started with a devout priest.
As snuffing tendrils threading blight.
Darkness calling, seducing sight...

As Fluent visions flood the mind.
Corruption spreads, infections bind.
Tenacious deeds invoking pain.
Resist temptation all in vain...
Despair rains down throughout the land.
The screams of death's commencing stand.
Silently twisting will of man.
A godless place with no more plan...

I used 10 words from the bank:
ephemeral     suspended     evanescent      incorporeal     inscribe     unravel    tenacious    fluent      throat       silently

I wrote this for a word bank contest and finished it 2 minutes before the deadline. The title popped into my head 5 seconds before clicking 'Submit Poem' button.
