In Death We Trust

By SirEnders

These lives we are forced into
May seem familiar, lives of deja vu.
Fighting different battles of life
End the bloodline with a knife.
Look around at the destruction
The hate is a constant fluxion.
Death is reluctant with affection
Loving us all without objection.
Life only wants us for a short time
Like we are just a common centime.
Death will love us forever longer
In his arms we grow ever stronger.
With that signature hooded figure
And convincing tongue of pure silver.
Convinces you to join him at home
No longer will you roam all alone.
Amongst the fields with Him now
Not one worried sweat on my brow.
The colours seem so vibrant and clear
Along the stretch of horizon I peer.
There she comes, on a sunset ray
The last I saw her was her doorway.
Reunited at long last, hand in hand
I sunk in an emotional quicksand.
Seeing those beautiful eyes and smile
Made the wait and pain all worth while.
Death gestures toward her gently
Run toward her, oh so intently.
I found you, after so long I did it
This field will soon be moonlit.
Your favourite time of the night
Watching the stars, Moon alight.
The stars shooting, no need for wishes
I got all I've wanted, even before Christmas.
Who knew Death would be the one to unite us
Mortality appears to be dreadfully superfluous.
This love is immortal, everlasting, and true
Forever more, darling, hand in hand with you.
