Flash Flood Nocturne

By quantummysticist18

Dreams break over my sleeping body like waves on a beach
Bringing the pleasure of a prince's harem
But following it with the disappointment of a wayward bird
Who returns to his nest after a long winter only to find it destroyed.
Dig through my psyche with a caviar spoon,
Unearth the hidden desires that would fill a lonely ocean,
And you will understand the plasma bleeding from my quill
As it drips out hysterical calligraphy upon the page
Which is lit only by the midnight candle wrought from vermilion wax.
Rain begins to pour down from the heavens
At a pace much more rapid than any ordinary storm,
Washing away plans for meetings between men with suitcases
Who would conduct the business of the world.
Incognito, I take to my rowboat and paddle down the former streets,
Dodging the cars that float away in hopeless anarchy.
The water implores me to return to sleep
Where I can find satisfaction once more,
Without the troublesome chords of reality chiming in my ear,
Screaming a lonely and pathetic message
Of the drowning of all fortune.

The ending made me feel like i found the safest form of refuge; cucooning in my warm blanky :) Thanx for sharing, this was a pleasant read indeed.
