The Burial
By Dimensions
I stared into my life's past loves
She broke -
She spilled -
She mattered -
I gazed into those cold dead memories
She bent -
She bled -
She scattered -
I listened to an echoes answer
She cried -
She lied -
She screamed -
I alone within that canyon
She swam -
She drowned -
She dreamed -
I nailed the lid upon the coffin
She begged -
She blamed -
She wept -
I wrote upon it an inscription
She lived -
She died -
She slept -
I buried her in wet red clay
She tossed -
She arched -
She ached -
I heard her as she became earthen
She mixed -
She dried -
She flaked -
I placed my ear upon the ground
She spoke -
She stopped -
She stalled -
I dug towards her with frenzied fingers
She sang -
She kicked -
She called -
And when I set my eyes upon her,
Within her mouth entwined the worms,
Her lips did drip of their secretions,
Words veiled as honey spawned the germs,
But...within her body's chamber,
Something cursed began to loom,
Then a plot to chase the father,
From the fruit inside the womb.
