Spaceman

By beamish

Moonlight rush of self disgust.

It's a shame to proclaim my dislike for myself

The star seem so far the light still so bright

But the burn can't be felt the warmth leaves no welts

I long for the moment when the songs sing to me

The man in the suit with glowing eyes sets me free

From where he came to where he goes

Is he God-does anyone know

But I shake his hand man to man

He floats away and I live another day

but free this time-was it his or my mind

Whatever the cost or the cause the mighty spaceman frees us all as long as we listen

The mind is a game and only the mind is to blame so dance the joke

Join the man of the clouds float away and never look back forget yesterday  and ignore tomorrow

The death of life won't take its bite if your running faster than its teeth and its feet

Bowie indeed, there's a starman waiting in the sky.. this speaks to me of escape, of dreams and the final release itself..it's somber yet soulful and dreamy.. the opening 2 lines are great, reels you right in. enjoyed.

Shades to Bowie exist here. At least, that's what I take from this. A very poignant write. Keep it up. "A Space Man is what they say I am!"

Interesting enchanting poem.I enjoyed it's hauntingly strange subtlety and abstractly coherent rhythmic composure. - Å’
