Missive to a love that's far away
By rwb35
Let me spin you a yarn of star-crossed love
woven with spider webs and silvery tears
Let me write you a dream of Eden's delights
on virgin parchment as pure as snow
as cold as the winds of the north blow
To make us cling closer before yule log embers' glow
drunk with our own designs
pure as victimless crimes
Sail me away on your ship of dreams
and I will bask in the cold comfort
of your constellation's smile
Now knowing all the while
To whatever port I land, I will find you
In every stranger's eye, I will see you
hearing your laughter in birdsong
feeling your sorrow in the rain
Laughing out loud despite the pain
True lovers never part
time cannot mend a heart
unbroken, though cast like a silver coin
into the infinite's wishing well.

I rather enjoyed this. This was put together cleverly, I like the bits of rhyme, I like the bits that sort of jumble together until the words fit a pattern. I'm not one for wishy washy soulmate stuff, because I've been hurt by said stuff, but this.... This bears hope and truths. Well done.
