Dark Poems Anthology #1

MORTAL MAN
Light and Dark combine to make the starry heaven above,
Yet mortal man fears the Darkness which embraces true pleasure seekers
Does the Sun not reflect off of the mysterious Moon?
Wolves howl to it's master, their voices travelling cosmic distances
to reach their pale mistress
Answered back only by the Darkness of night, still so loyal to ravaging
predators
Who feed on the flesh of freshly stalked prey
Indeed, their murderous ways sustaining the timber woods of a never ending
destiny to carnivorous intent, their fangs red with blood dripping
With the life force of Gaia's energetic entropy that demands sacrifice
Like an altar to pagan Aztec gods, giving her focus to the killers
Who dwell in the twilight of many mortals, but by tooth and claw
Frae a Jack Lyndon fantasy, nonetheless savage yet beautiful
Without a second guess that poisons the inspiration which lights up
the Canine mind
So malevolent yet so generous to the trees that grow
What did sin ever avail to the wild beast?
Except to give an excuse to truly savage hunters
Stalking by daylight like coward chimps
Who are cursed by the dusky veil of natural protection
Mastered only by Lycanthropy in the master's reign,
Learned only by a Dark Poet's midnight pen

LAUGHING HRAFN
Haunted by the cawing Raven
Illusions of the old gods craven
Odin's eye, I too much know
The Hanged God of merry woe
All the sagas thus have spoken
Of when the turning wheel is broken
That propels the burning sun
Stopping the Earth from being spun
The time of war is at our hands
Gotterdammerung of the Highlands
Calling forth to Ragnarok
Blue skies then toxic clouds will block
Giants of fire, Niflheim
Unraveling the black cube in time
Freezing Rime in Muspelheim
The English pound allowing crime
Uprooting trees of life for sap
The black blood of Earth we quickly tap
Tyr's left hand in Fenrir's jaws
Bitten off to fetter the claws
These end times are surely coming
The Bard's prophetic lute is strumming
Tavern tales of warring kings
Exotic treasures that war brings
Loki the king of mistletoe
From his lashing tongue the world's lies flow
Crushing logic from your head
Striking beautiful Bragi dead

THE POETIC DARKNESS
Because the Dark Poet is lonely,
his heart cannot be broken
Because the Dark Poet is vague,
his words come through clear to those with ears to hear
Because the Dark Poet is ugly,
he avoids all harassment and remains in peace
Because the Dark Poet is lazy,
he has more energy than the yoked Ox
Because the Dark Poet is foolish,
all of life's solutions come tumbling towards him
Because the Dark Poet is anonymous,
all forms are his to take command of
Because the Dark Poet is drunken,
the troubles of life are non-existent
Because the Dark Poet is tragic,
the Divine Comedy is made clear to him
Because the Dark Poet is pitied,
people bring out their best around him
Because the Dark Poet is Dark,
Light is allowed to be created in the universe

A CAP
A hat by any other name is just as Dark
Watching clouds drift over the day-lit Moon
Is more amusing than any television
Conjured by Dark marketing sorcerers
One thousand self divisions created by man
To separate from his natural state
Compares to a drop of rain water collected
Which refuses to quench the beastly thirst
So he runs around like a March Hare with no time
A golden stopwatch which does no justice
In helping him attend the cosmic tea party
Hosted by the mind and body alike
Laziness, selfishness, melancholy and lust
A simple list of life's greatest pleasures
Portrayed by Light priests as being complicated
This is why Light is the source of deceit
