When my husband drank and got mean

When the man I loved threw me down the stairs
I am strong because I had to be
When my son looked to me for guidance
I am strong because I had to be
When my sister died
I am strong because I had to be
When I was pushed aside over and over
I am strong because I had to be
When I caught my husband with another lover
I am strong because I had to be
When my mother finally passed away
I am strong because I had to be
When I am treated like something to be used and never loved
I am strong because I had to be
When will it be time for me to be weak?
