true love

By darkangel

I never believed in fairy tales.
True love just wasn't in the cards.
Everywhere I looked, couples loved.
But not for me.
Played a couple hands
I tried to find the one,
But the nights grew longer
And the days seemed colder
As heartache replayed over and again.
As the summer rain suddenly storms,
From nowhere do you blow into my life,
The always imperfect
Became perfect in your arms.
Dreams spent wandering,
Nights spent hoping,
Your first kiss calmed my soul.
Yes.
"If only" was no longer,
Maybe and perhaps ceased to be.
Kissing a lot of frogs makes you stop
Believing that love can truly be yours
Until one day, in one look, one kiss, you realize why it never worked out
With all the wrong ones
Because the right one melts away
The world, your fears, your doubts.
You finally understand what you never did.
Fairy tales do come true
If you truly believe.
